If there’s one heavy metal band that has all the makings of lasting success, it’s undoubtedly Deadlands from Sacramento. The line-up consists of professional and experienced musicians with a knack for good songs and thrilling live shows. The album features killer hooks, dynamic vocals, driving riffs, epic solos, catchy lyrics, thundering drums, intricate basslines and combines heavy, thrash, power, groove and speed metal with thumping hard rock. Deadlands was formed in summer 2010 by lead vocalist Brian O’Connor (Consfearacy, ex-Vicious Rumors), lead guitarist Michael J. Gardner (The Council), guitarist Kevin Rohr (Spectre), bassist Steve Dedbass Northam and drummer Danny Sablan (HateFX, The Council). These long-time friends and experienced musicians had a clear idea of combining their strengths to form a unique heavy metal band. Deadlands have already built a strong fanbase and were nominated for a Sacramento Area Music Award (Sammies) in 2012, playing shows with acts like Exodus, Anvil, Y&T, Great White and Death Angel. The US press is full of praise for the band’s music and live qualities. Now Deadlands have completed their debut album ‘Evilution’ and signed a worldwide deal with Massacre Records. It features guest appearances from some legendary metal guitarists: Hank Shermann (Mercyful Fate), Michael Denner (Mercyful Fate/King Diamond), Andy LaRocque (King Diamond), Claudeous Creamer (Dragonlord), Mike Wead (Mercyful Fate/King Diamond), Glen Alvelais (Forbidden/Testament/HateFX), and Steve Smyth (Nevermore/Forbidden).
