Soak the amount of moss you need in a clean sink until completely saturated. Wring out the excess water from the moss. Place enough of the moss in the bottom of the new pot to raise the orchid to the same level as in the previous pot. Gently but firmly pack moss all around the roots. You need enough moss to firmly hold the orchid upright in the new container but not pressed so firmly that you may damage the roots or impede their growth. You can also add ground pumice or perlite to aerate the media.
