Adventure is life and simplicity is key. The barefoot feel is everything right, but up until now the options have been to wear bulk foot protection or deal with the cuts. Wearing regular surf socks or booties, I just couldn’t feel the board or grip with my toes while kite surfing so I chose cold injured feet for too many years. One day I sliced my foot on some oyster shells which required 6 stitches and waaaay to must time off the water waiting to heal. I thought there must be an alternative that would prevent this… and that when I found out about this ‘outta-this-world’ fibre which boasts a tensile strength 15x that of steel whilst being lightweight and comfortable to wear. Honestly, it sounded too good to be true and was kinda skeptical. We had the first pairs made. As scary as what it was, the first thing I did was tried to cut my foot with a german steel knife… the sock worked! Even my German friend was impressed. We are still discovering all the amazing uses for these socks but would love to see & hear how you are using them!
